It would be nice if we could sell Local backup only (for a small fee) with an option to provide off-site protection as an upgrade (for a larger fee). i.e GFI charge us a fixed fee per device for local only and then a small per Gb price for the off-site protection. It would be a much easier way to sell the product to clients as will be able to give them a good estimate of their costs based on the size of the local vault. ...more »
Hyper-V virtual machines backup in MOB
It would be useful to be able to define the retention period for each backup job, sometimes you need to lower, in my example, I want a weekly system state backup but more than 3 versions is not required.
It would be nice for workstations to be able to select file types to backup. Fx. *.doc etc.
Workstation users may not be the best to organice there data so insted of backing a lost of junk up, you simply select device and file type to backup.
This is easy insted of deselect all kink of file types.
Would like the ability to see the actual selected size of a backup without having to start the back up and wait for the size to be estimated. then stop the backup in order to get an accurate size.
Managed Online Backup integrated with the OSX agent
Managed Online Backup (MOB) as a solution that gives businesses the option to backup their data offsite which we know is very critical. This is why when a scheduled backup fails it MUST send alert stating the backup failed and not wait until the daily safety check (DSC) runs. We offer a completed managed backup solution to our customers with another provider and when a backup fails we are looking into the issue immediately. ...more »
When setting up, what to and what not to backup in the MOB Manager interface a refresh means save. Even it's quick it's not very Windows like, and sometime you need to be able cancel what you have done, if fx. a phone call was received in the middle of setup.
I think it should be made so you have to save and/or have the option to cancle, jus like all other Windows applications.
I would like to see the ability to brand MOB from the Dashboard or have GFI apply our branding when the backup GUI is installed. It can be done manually but for a large base of MOB clients this would take some time to achieve.
Managed Online Backup Selected Size Check is long waited, but if you have fx. a File & Folders and a Netowrk Share backup, I'm interested in the Total amount the customers store and not the amount each of the backups store.
We need the option to check to Total backup.
I have dozens of clients that show up as failing the check for Managed Online Backup simply because the check cannot detect the status of MOB.
If MOB is currently running a backup, the check should pass with the text of "Backup In Progress", not fail with "Backup Status Cannot Be Determined".
Being able to run a restore from the dashboard to a different server/PC and not having to disable the storage account and add it to another device.
