The Microsoft Windows 8 GroupPolicy service (gpsvc) does not run all the time on Windows 8 so the service check will fail often. The agent should check the OS and adapt the GroupPolicy Service check to a Windows 8 compatible way.
please include a button to make it possible to restart a misbehaving Windows service with one click. At the moment the only way to do it remotly without TakeControl is to crate an automated task for one machine only. That means of course that you have to disable the automated task management via the site. And you have to remember to reenable this at the end of the day...
It would be awesome if we were able to search by Serial Number, Service Tag, or Device info within Asset Tracking. This would make it easier to track devices down. Thanks!
The default restart timeout on all bitdefender services currently is set on 720 minutes, meaning that when te service fails to start or crashes it takes 12 hours to restart.
It is however possible to change the services from the dashboard, however, a default value of max 60 minutes would be mucht better since there is no way to mass edit the Bitdefender services yet.
It would be nice if it's possible to change the alert threshold globally for that specific check and not have to be changed per device.
On Windows 2012 Microsoft changed the windows update server to 'automatic - triggered start'. What happens is the service starts when needed and when no more work is to be done the service shuts down. The problem is that when the Windows Service Check - Windows Update is running an alarm is being generated because the service is not running. Looks like Microsoft changed the design of many services to be triggered services ...more »
Be nice to be able to customize the Statement of Work IE the date and time field format or a place to input mileage.
I am so pleased with the integration between AutoTask and GFI thus far. Kudos to all! I would love to be able to get the service tag info that GFI has captured, and get it in the 'serial number' field in AutoTask through the PSA integration. Hope that can be added in the future.
Currently the initial scan does add service checks for some specific services and that's it. I am certain it would make much more sense to add all services with "automatic" start type to the list of monitored services for the automatic detection. For instance if the server is running multiple MS SQL instances, none of them is automatically being added to the monitored services while I am certain this is something worth ...more »
The fact that the services drop down list is unsearchable is unforgivable. This is especially apparent when there are thousands of services when creating monitoring templates. There needs to be a way of filtering / searching for checks using a searchable drop down which is a standard UI element.
The majority of our customers take 24x7x365 monitoring and as such we receive alerts through the night for them via SMS. We have some customers who only pay for 8x5 working day support and we would like to stop alerting outside of office hours. Currently, as it stands, I have to move the SMS number from the root of the alert settings dialog and populate all my 24x7x365 clients with this information. As an added ...more »
