GFI Cloud is a great application however for my industry(IT Consulting) it would be an irreplaceable application if we could monitor different sites easily. To have the ability to see Site A vs Site B vs Site C. I realize the licensing could be an issue here because different clients would be involved but there must be some way to do this, rather than logging in to each client separately and so forth.
It would be helpful to have an e-mail/SMS notification sent when an issue resolves or clears. Sometimes systems enter an issue state, but clear themselves a few minutes later and it would be nice to know that when you only have access to e-mail or your phone.
The account settings allow you to setup multiple emails for sending alert messages. However, the field is limited to 50 characters. Recommend increasing the field length to at lease 256 or better yet, allow the admin to put in multiple email addresses and select individually which types of messages are sent to which users.
Since we can't seem to get the problem fixed about reporting "Threat Definitions out of Date" instead of just updating the definitions. It would be nice to know the date of the current definitions. When you click on the "Actions" button, it shows the currently installed Threat definitions version. It would be nice if it also showed the date, maybe in parenthesis after the version? I manage multiple sites. I don't always have physical access to PCs and I am against remote sessions for several reasons. Certain settings that can be set from programs within the program folder on the PC should be able to be set for the entire network. Settings like "increase the number of retries for the connection". From what I was told reporting is not a feature in the works for Vipre Online. I'm not sure why it wouldn't be on the timeline especially because it would be nice for a customer to get notifications that all machines are up-to-date or not, and basically any report you can pull with the on-premise. You are collecting excellent data. Provide a way for your users to download this data for instance asset reporting, software, hardware, etc.
It could be a simple csv file that could be imported into excel. include all the pc data available, MAC address, ip, name, last update time, last 5 users maybe, etc... include software versions, hardware, etc.
Similar to the multiple accounts with one login, I see a need to have ability for multiple logins for ONE account. I am one company, with TWO IT personnel. They have to use the same login. Why not allow us two allow two user accounts. And secondly, maybe the ability to limit one to only assigning licenses and seeing status, but not making policy changes.
When a Threat hits a pc you should be able to set a default action (ignore, remove, quarantine, etc) by clicking the threat in the VIPER Threats view perhaps to immediately respond to the threat and add given action to the policy or policies as seen fit.
Rather than have clients' braving the services to disable the virus software (temporarily) a right-click context menu similar to the previous versions should be implemented. When rebuilding database indexes, installing various applications or Windows Updates and other disk-intense activity this feature is essential.
Managing computers/clients would be MUCH easier with organization with DOZENS of workstations if they could be "Grouped" together. I.E. "Third Floor" or "Sales Notebooks", etc...
Instead of one (very long) list of "all computers".
It would be a great idea and a usefull future to add the following service to a workstation from out the dashboard. This service will give a connected machine acces to a cloud storage. It would be nice if this was availble on a mobile device. Like a smartphone or a tablet. It would be a big plus if this could be integrated in to Office like skydrive.
