At this moment, N-central is configured to get the asset information for a default device class on a specific place on the device. Because of this the asset tab on these devices has a lot of information. But for devices where no default device class exists, the asset tab on these devices is mostly empty. For example: Eaton UPS, HP storage boxes, … I think that it’s an innovative idea that you can specify which SNMP OID ...more »
Like it is possible to do SNMP Asset Discovery, it would be nice to have this also for PowerShell objects. You ask for a list of powershell objects, and this information will then be included in asset scan and can than be used as asset information for service templates:
Examples: different sheduled tasks, different DHCP scopes, ...
Windows 7 OEM installations where a volume licence key has been used will often show the same Windows serial number and product key in Asset Tracking.
Asset Tracking should also pull the original Windows 7 product key from wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey, for asset tracking purposes
It would be nice if Mobile devices would be present in the Asset Tracking Viewer. Not only would it be possible to find for instance all Android 7 devices but also custom fields could be used to enter fields like end of subscription date etc.
Windows 10 apps that are installed via the Windows Store do not show on dashboard under the "Assets" tab. They also do not show up under "Programs and Features" in the Control Panel.
However, if you go Settings > Apps & features in Windows 10, you can see these Windows store apps.
We would like to see the Apps tab show the apps that are installed via the Windows Store as well.
At the moment the export you can generate from the asset tracking does not include the build version of the devices displayed. Thus making the filtering or listing of the different devices and builds you are monitoring in the dashboard hard to achieve. The only viable option at the moment is the client inventory report. Running this report for the required Clients and then Ctrl+A to highlight all and then copy/paste ...more »
We would like to create custom asset information. (and the ability to remove asset information that we don't use.) We'd also like to modify/customize the Device Details summary that display at the top of the device page. Things we would like to add: gather a registry key for a software activation ID gather public IP gather current resolution of display I'd even settle for a "Custom" tab under the Asset tab where ...more »
As a Managed Service Provider to 50+ small to medium size companies, some of our clients would like to see their inventory of devices and software. We would like to leverage the Asset Tracking portion of the dashboard, but are unable to configure permissions to show ONLY Asset Tracking. We don't want our clients to see the routine checks on their servers and workstation.
Currently this is only available in the SQL Export. Please Include this information in the XML Report of the asset tracking as well.
In Asset Tracking, for devices that are running Internet Explorer versions 9, 10 and 11, the software that is shown is 'Internet Explorer'. Asset Tracking doesn't differentiate between the different versions. From what I can find, in the Registry, the version location has changed in IE9+ to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\svcVersion Where in IE8- it was: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet ...more »
We have the ability to add assets in Service Desk, which is great. We can add an asset, setup sub-features and custom fields, etc. The feature itself is very handy to have. What would make it FANTASTIC to have is the ability to add those assets on the dashboard side, the RMM side. It would be SO VERY helpful to be able to add asset categories, such as Routers, Printers, etc.. things that can't necessarily be monitored ...more »
It would be awesome if we were able to search by Serial Number, Service Tag, or Device info within Asset Tracking. This would make it easier to track devices down. Thanks!
