"Bitdefender strengthens security for virtual environments and datacenters with Application Control Whitelisting" "New Application Whitelisting technology helps IT managers create an inventory of trusted apps and block execution of unauthorized software" Quote from Bitdefender website As an MSP I need to be providing the best security. The current trend is for application whitelisting, ie start with no applications able ...more »
Whitelisted addresses should not bypass virus scanning checks in the spam filter. Please submit your idea with care. Remember to tell us *what* you want to do, *why* you want to do it, and *who* it will benefit. What : Mail Assure spam filter to stop viruses from being delivered to mailboxes. Why : nobody needs to receive an emailed virus, even if the address is whitelisted (or the whitelisted address is spoofed). ...more »
Since the N-central IP address and web port is used both for agent access and user logins, it would be a excellent security feature if is was possible to configure a whitelist with IP scope for those networks that should be allowed to access the N-central GUI e.g. login screen.
At the moment the "from"/"Sender" address that is shown in the log search and the protection report is the True from address and not the simple on that you should see in outlook, this is causing some issues with finding emails and knowing which ones to release from the protection report. e.g. I get emails from auvik and in outlook it shows email@example.com but if I try to find the auvik emails in the log search and ...more »
When selecting Content Control> Internet Control and adding filtering by Category, and adding Whitelist and Blacklist rules... It doesn't work. I added the "Social Network" rule, and applied it to my machine, then made sure the new module is active and was able to view facebook.com without issues. Long story short: Support says you have to enable Network Scan and select Scan web (HTTP) traffic, as well as Scan SSL to ...more »
Some other options on the Bitdefender quarantine tab would be helpful. 1. I'd like to see an option to release from quarantine without adding a whitelist entry. In practice, Bitdefender seems to suffer from false positives pretty often. I would like to trigger a definition update, then release the quarantined files (without whitelisting) to see if the newer definitions will fix the problem. The policy whitelists get ...more »
Please let us disable IP whitelisting for specific users.
While there are many of us who agree that IP whitelisting is generally a good idea to enhance security, it is not-so-well implented for the most part in Germany.
We have many customers who do not have static IPs and thus would need to re-confirm their location / IP **frequently** .
As you'd imagine this hinders working with MSP RMM.
The phone calls, emails, and numerous complaints on here should make it self-evident already. There are a ton of them so there's really no single place to post my thoughts without repeating the same information on a lot of posts. So I'll start a new one and hope the community here might see it and add their .02. The new poorly-implemented IP restrictions and 2FA crap are a huge hurdle we have to deal with every day - ...more »
Recently with the new IP-Whitelisting feature quite a few users of the dashboard experienced problems with the verification-email process. When logging into the dashboard from a new IP or a customers site the verification email would sometimes take up to 15 minutes to be received by the user. Which is an unfortunate way of wasting the users and customers time when working there. So a quicker solution could be a IP verification ...more »
It would be nice if there is an option so that the dashboard user can also customize his own whitelist. At this moment i can set the permission in "Roles and Permissions", but the user can then edit all my webprotection policies of all my customers and that is soemthing i don't want.
The only client I have run this on had files that were flagged as containing credit card information when, in fact, they were files that were compressed and had random numbers that matched the length of credit card numbers. I could easily ohave produced a report showing progress on their system if I could have eliminated the false positives. As it stands, the report still shows problems. The dashboard policy or the specific ...more »
Users can exclude/blacklist file extensions just fine. Unfortunately they can't whitelist them. If I'd like to back up only word, excel and pdf documents for example, I'd have to exclude all other file formats. Another user case is when dealing with small selection size products (Max Backup). Lets say the selected size limit is 5Gb. Documents folder (containing thousands of files of all kind) is selected, but it's 7Gb ...more »
Users should be able to click a link in Block Page messages that creates a form that is emailed to an email address defined in the Web Protection policy. This would make it easy for the user to properly communicate the site that was blocked. The information that should be included in the email are below. The ComputerName and username variables will also need to be added to the list of available variables. Full Name: ...more »
It would be nice to be able to be able to whitelist or blacklist a site in all web protection profiles from one place. I recently had to whitelist a site on all profiles and was very inefficient having to go into every existing profile and add it one by one.
It would be very beneficial for Company Owned Devices to be able to Allow/Block apps. For example a mobile device (maybe only Android for now) can only use email, browser and the phone feature, but not the store and not allow them to start any social media apps and maybe even block access to the settings of the phone. I know this needs sometimes rooting a device, but once the app is device admin you have a lot of rights ...more »
