When a URL or IP address is blocked by Web Protection, I would like it to show more information on the local device so a better decision can be made regarding whitelisting the site. An example of information included would be if an IP address is registered to a company, i.e. Google, DropBox, etc. I would like that information to be displayed in the block recorded in the taskbar on the local device, and when searching ...more »
For example if a pc is lost. The possibility to block the pc from using. So the person that has the pc, has to contact us to reblock the system.
I'd like the ability to block customer level users from being able to access filter/dashboard/repositoy items that were created at a higher level. I don't want to completely remove access to the filters/dashboards/repo as they should be able to manage items at their level and below, but don't want them being able to look into the items that were created at a higher level, since they're not a higher level user that should ...more »
Rather than the old passive alerting option that next to no-one uses, how about going an active route and actually prevent the disallows applications from running? Competitor RMM's have had these abilities for years. Let's take it a step further and use self healing to allow optional removal of specific detected software as well. And then if you can also add-in owner verification ala policypak least priviledge manager, ...more »
For example lets say you visit MSN.com and it loads a bunch of ADs. If some of those ADs are on blocked domains then an SSL error is generated. This is because the element where the AD is attempts to redirect to the Notification section but is unable to properly use the SSL as we are still on MSN.com instead of *.logicnow.us or whatever the Web protection SSL is. A good fix for this would be to have Web Protection ...more »
So there is the scenario I have recently taken a customer through the UK Government based Cyber Essentials Plus certification. One of the requirements is to prevent users from downloading executable files form the internet. This is to prevent the possibility of infection from RansomWare etc. This would we a great addition to the Web Protection Suite as world wide it can be used to prevent RansomWare. In the UK it will ...more »
Users should be able to click a link in Block Page messages that creates a form that is emailed to an email address defined in the Web Protection policy. This would make it easy for the user to properly communicate the site that was blocked. The information that should be included in the email are below. The ComputerName and username variables will also need to be added to the list of available variables. Full Name: ...more »
Please add the URL of the blocked website as an available Substitution String so that we can add this to the Block Message.
Currently users only see the policy, category and reputation. If URL is added then they can copy and paste this in an email request to the provider, or we can possibly push this to an email with HTML.
Currently a new subdomain will be Allowed, even if the parent or root domain is Blocked. I am seeing infections get past Web Protection because hackers have figured this out, and are daily creating new subdomains to bypass products like Web Protection. Please add the following as a default setting:
Block any request to an Uncategorized Subdomain if the root domain is blocked in any Web Security Category.
When a user gets a block message there is nothing to show them what URL was blocked. This makes it hard for them to let us know what needs to be looked at and unblocked. There are strings for the policy, category, and reputation. I am suggesting that there be one added for the URL. This would allow the end user to be able to tell us specifically what page was being blocked. They could take a screenshot and email ...more »
We need a way to block folders without entering the entire path. For instance, My PC Backup (like a lot of scam software) can install in either C:\Program Files (x86)\MyPC Backup or C:\Program Files\MyPC Backup. Potentially it could install in a lot of other places as well.
We should be able to enter "MyPC Backup" as a folder name, and have MAV block any executables from that folder, regardless of the location.
It would be very beneficial for Company Owned Devices to be able to Allow/Block apps. For example a mobile device (maybe only Android for now) can only use email, browser and the phone feature, but not the store and not allow them to start any social media apps and maybe even block access to the settings of the phone. I know this needs sometimes rooting a device, but once the app is device admin you have a lot of rights ...more »
