The concern for this feature is such: I tried to add a windows feature "XPS VIewer" to windows 10 1803, I couldnt find the feature available anywhere in the settings, do i used "dism /online /add-capability /capabilityname:XPS.Viewer~~~~0.0.1.0" on a Nable controlled device, DISM said "Source files not found." ive seen this before with our old WSUS server. I tried using the GPO to specify using microsofts servers to download ...more »
We want a way to reboot a Windows server immediately after finishing installing Windows updates.
Without waiting before the reboot window takes action.
Patch Management Feature Policies do not have an option in the Approval Policy section under Microsoft to allow Security Only Cumulative patches to be installed instead of full feature patches. There should be a toggle (checkbox) that will allow you to enable Security Only to Approve those and Ignore full featured, and unchecked should allow the full feature patches to be Approved and Ignore the Security Only patches. ...more »

With the advent of Mac agent v3 and the unification of all MSP features under a single pane of glass, I was hoping that the Client Executive Summary report would get an upgrade. Currently, Macs do not report if the managed patch task is installed/scheduled, nor if it has run recently (or if devices are fully up-to-date). This makes the Client report for Mac environments almost effectively useless, since the numbers are ...more »
N-central patching should wake systems for detection, pre-download, and/or reboot windows
Patch Management - Installation Schedule Upgrade is big setback Recently, Patch Mangaement Schedule has been re-vamped to deploy patches on a global schedule. Deploying patches to multiple clients on their schedule is a key aspect of Customer Service. Setting up a single Patch Management across all clients is not how to do business; although it is simpler. Ideally, Patch Management Schedule should be customized for each ...more »
Solarwinds case #01111236 With the addition of Patch Status v2 I have discovered lots of patches that were never automatically approved by automatic approval rules. Some are very important such as update rollups. Support explained it is because the Product Field is blank as this is what Microsoft's Windows Update agent is providing. WSUS has no problem handling these things, and N-able should be able to handle it ...more »
It would be very helpful if a machine missed the normal scheduled patch installation window we would have the option to patch the next time the agent came online. Something similar is available in the settings for 'next boot' however if the machine is simply hibernating or in a low power state it will not trigger this event.
Currently many servers indicate their are updates missing with no approval. However when i go into Patch Approvals, both by Device or By Patch, it seems to indicate all available and needed updates have been either approved or declined. When i check Patch Status V2 on the server it shows me the KB it's missing; however when i go into Patch Approvals by Device or by Patch, i cannot locate the KB. I was advised by SolarWinds ...more »
Currently N-Central runs patch management tasks based off the target servers timezone. I'd like to see the ability for us to choose whether to use targeted server timezone or the N-Central time to run tasks. Example - i have approval to take down Server1 and Server2 at 6PM PST; however, Server1 has time set to EST timezone and Server2 has timezone set to GMT timezone. So if i were to set a schedule in N-Central for ...more »
Microsoft Updates are released on Patch Tuesday (2nd Tuesday of the Month), you currently have ability to schedule and target that specific date; however, would like ability to schedule additional patch windows based off that Tuesday. Example - You schedule Group 1 to deploy updates on 2nd Tuesday of the month, Group 2 should deploy updates on the Thursday AFTER patch Tuesday. Currently there is no way to schedule this. ...more »
