The recently availability of GFI MAX for OSX is great. However, when one of our customers was migrated from a 3rd party antivirus to Managed Antivirus the question rose 'how about our OSX workstations'
AV Defender is currently available for the Windows platform, however, there is no centralized AV for Mac devices.
Often machines are offline for a week or more when a user is out of the office. When the machines comes back online, the AV will not have updated yet. Currently, the DSC runs as soon as the machine comes online and as the AV is out of date, the Antivirus Update Check fails. It would be great to put the date next to the definition version. GFI max remote management works with the old Panda Cloud Office 5.5 version but not with the new Panda Cloud Office Protection 6.0. Guys we need this update on the agent ASAP. Tks.
wouldn't it be great to be able to transfer exceptions from one policy to another? That way you wouldn't have to enter every exception inside every policy, but could transfer them.
In the dashboard, upper right pane where you have columns that indicate the status of services deployed to the device such as patches, Team Viewer, backups, etc... there is no column to indicate antivirus. This would be valuable to us just to know that Antivirus is deployed and working.
Allow option to password protect antivirus so that the user cannot remove it or software disable it.

If you Added a workstation to have Managed Antivirus and it could not deploy it should Have a red X next to the computer the next time a DSC Runs. Currently all you can see is a grey dot next to the AV giving a message like AV is incompatible. No Red X or alert. Bitdefender has been touting their product for a while. A/V A/M are absolute necessities for Macs these days. I have seen topics open on this since 2013.
I think it is time to get this in place.
In order to maintain PCI Compliance my clients who are retailers need to be able to go back a minimum of 1 year in their antivirus logs. Currently we have only two months in the console. We could use either a configurable option for log rotation or simply a longer log rotation.
We commonly use local antivirus as a secondary scanning utility to help scan POP3, Exchange, imap, etc emails.
