Bidefender slows down our customers' systems! Since we changed the MAV engine from Vipre to Bitdefender our customers complain about an obvious slowdown of their systems.
abort Bitdefender Scan Option is not given.
You can stop the whole Bitdefender -via the dashboard, yet not on User level
Please add the Option to abort / pause / rescedule Scans on user level.
Hello, Due to my recent feature request getting closed due to a missunderstanding, I re-open this here: I did not expect I would have to post a feature request for this functionality, as I expected it to be common sense that the MAV check should fail and report as failure in the dashboard, if a threat is marked as 'detected' and no further action is performed. This would be the case for threats in outlook .pst / .ost ...more »
I'm resubmitting this after I talked to support. They tell me that BitDefender is set to use maximum CPU usage during scans in order to keep the scans short. This is fine, but that sucks up battery, generates heat, and slows the computer down. It would be better to have an option to run scans at lowest priority and cap the amount of CPU usage for those of us who don't want the scan to take top priority. Support suggested ...more »
We should be able to allow users to temporarily disable Bitdefender. I had two users that needed their antivirus software disabled in order to install their software. The customer was perturbed because it impacted their day waiting for me to get to the console and disable their software. And, then they had to contact me again to re-enable it.
Because the scans seem to slow even the fastest of computers, it would be great if we could set BitDefender so it would only scan if the computer was idle for a configurable amount of idle time.
Bitdefender now offers Ransomware protection for their products. Please integrate their solution into the Bitdefender Managed Anti-Virus. Ransomware is a epidemic and needs to be stopped. It takes too much time to recover from and is attacking all over the world.
At the moment file and folder paths have to be hard coded, except for windows variable paths. We would like to be able to use wildcards in these paths the same as the Vipre policies. eg
?:\Folder\ - for a folder/file on any drive
*\Folder\* - for a folder name at any level of the file structure
There seem to be enough issues with BD performance and scheduling (scan if schedule is misssed, sequential scans, multithreaded with hich memory and CPU usage) that it seems the the only resolution may be to guarantee that scans run in the off hours. The only way to accomplish this may be to add an option to wake the machine (if suspended) to perform the scan. This will help balance the user's desire for effective security ...more »
Bitdefender should check for updates prior to performing a scan so that the scan is done with the latest definitions. If a machine has been off for a time and the protection policy is set to run missed scans, it's possible for BitDefender to perform back to back scans with old definitions. There seems to be no need to perform a quick scan if a deep scan has just finished especially if the definitions are out of date. ...more »
Currently, in order not to allow the user to do scans, the shield has to be disabled. This means that the client will likely have the misunderstanding that they don't have any virus protection. The user should be able to see the shield and we should be able to give them options such as to scan and to temporarily disable antivirus software.
There is currently no way for a client to see/verify the BitDefender definition version/timestamp without inquiring into a registry key.
This information should be shown in the console About dialog where the engine version is currently shown.
if a customer gets a notice that the definitions are out of date, it would be useful for them to see what the current version is.
