It would be nice if we could sell Local backup only (for a small fee) with an option to provide off-site protection as an upgrade (for a larger fee). i.e GFI charge us a fixed fee per device for local only and then a small per Gb price for the off-site protection. The recently availability of GFI MAX for OSX is great. However, when one of our customers was migrated from a 3rd party antivirus to Managed Antivirus the question rose 'how about our OSX workstations'
For the managed online backup I would like to add customer email addresses for a backup report. If it succeeded or failed and how much data it processed.
Create user quotas for MOB, which generates alerts when a user is nearing their defined limit. Many of our customers like to monitor their backup usage, and instituting a quota system with our current offsite backup provider that alerts us when they near that quota allows them to budget properly (or remove unnecessary items from backup), and keeps them from getting angry about suddenly skyrocketing backup costs.
AV Defender is currently available for the Windows platform, however, there is no centralized AV for Mac devices.

Managed Online Backup (MOB) as a solution that gives businesses the option to backup their data offsite which we know is very critical. This is why when a scheduled backup fails it MUST send alert stating the backup failed and not wait until the daily safety check (DSC) runs. I have dozens of clients that show up as failing the check for Managed Online Backup simply because the check cannot detect the status of MOB.
If MOB is currently running a backup, the check should pass with the text of "Backup In Progress", not fail with "Backup Status Cannot Be Determined".
I love the ability of Managed Online Backup, but my huge gripe with it is you can't just delete files you have to uninstall the agent completely. To me this is cumbersome and is a main reason I haven't used the service yet. Also, there is no way to setup retention policies to only hold certain files so long before they are deleted. wouldn't it be great to be able to transfer exceptions from one policy to another? That way you wouldn't have to enter every exception inside every policy, but could transfer them.
Not just a few resellers would like to offer their customers a restricted contingent of backup volume with MOB. For example if he sells a 10 GB MOB bundle and the customer only can backup stuff up to a limit of this 10 GB, nobody would have to care and keep taking a look at his amount. I have been meeting with federal regulators and they are telling me it's a requirement that credit unions and banks keep al least 180 days of data. I would like to see an option to keep backup data longer. We have credit unions and healthcare organizations that are going to start requiring this from us.
