Auto approve and auto block patches by Vendor/Product

We really need to be able to auto approve patches for a particular vendor or product. For instance, auto approve all patches for Adobe products or auto approve all Java patches. Right now we can only choose to auto approve ALL non-microsoft patches that fall into a specific severity (critical, important, etc).

Monthly and scheduled reports

Reports are about showing the value of the service to the customer. As IT business owners we need to automate as much as possible. I would like to see automated monthly reports that contain all the other reporting mechanisms like workstations, patch management, remote support, automated task report, device hardware/software inventory, bandwidth/performance etc. This way the customer can see everything the service does ...more »

Provide more detail of failing patches

If a patch fails, there may be all sorts of information in the Windows event log or elsewhere explaining why. But the information presented to the technician is virtually nil - all we know is "patch failed/patch succeeded" - meaning we have to go to every PC with failed patches and interrupt the user's day with a support session to find out what went wrong. It'd be far more efficient if such information could be presented ...more »

Patch Management - more flexible scheduler

In earlier feature requests it was already asked to implement schedules like "2nd Tuesday of the month", etc. (Note: not by me)

As yet that request has not been full-filled...

In many cases it would be greatly appreciated if an approved patch can be scheduled at a given set date/time. Same like a planned reboot.

Disable updates for supported applications

One of the biggest benefits of patch management is that the customer no longer has to worry about Adobe Reader, Java, OpenOffice, Skype and a hundred other applications all flashing up a window saying "An update is ready, do you want to install it? You must reboot your PC to complete". Except - unless I've missed something - patch management doesn't disable the inbuilt update functionality of supported applications. ...more »

Patch Management (Wake on LAN)

We currently approve client patches for installation around mid-day. In some cases we notice a degrade in machine performance during the patch cycle.

It would be useful to have a WOL option built into the Patch Management. We would then be able to patch at evenings / weekends and limit disruption to the end user.

Add 'Reboot before patch' option to prevent failed patches

Sometimes patches fail because a required file is in use.

It would be beneficial to add a 'reboot before patching' option to force the machine to reboot before installing the patches. This would insure that the patches would be installed in a 'quiet' state and, potentially, less likely to fail.
