When you add a script check to a system, the first window lets you choose the script to add and shows the description at the bottom when you select a script. The second window lets you enter the command line and timeout. But, does not show the description or usage notes. I usually put examples of proper command line syntax in the usage notes. If a tech can't remember the syntax, they have to close that window, open the ...more »
If I apply a template to a system to check for a running service and that service doesn't exist on the system, the check doesn't get applied. For example, I use a template to push out ShadowProtect. It contains an automated task to do the initial install and several checks (backup check, services, event log, etc.). Since ShadowProtect isn't actually installed yet, the service checks don't get created. I now have to apply ...more »
Some other options on the Bitdefender quarantine tab would be helpful. 1. I'd like to see an option to release from quarantine without adding a whitelist entry. In practice, Bitdefender seems to suffer from false positives pretty often. I would like to trigger a definition update, then release the quarantined files (without whitelisting) to see if the newer definitions will fix the problem. The policy whitelists get ...more »
I would like to be able to separate the updates that are applied to the Mac by operating system and other software at the very least. I have need to turn off some updates, but that can't be done without disabling all updates. Ideally, I would like even more control to disable updates for a particular piece of software. My use case for this ability is that Mac-MSP updated VirtualBox on my main workstation. I use VirtualBox ...more »
As it turns out, if you have configured an automated task to run each time a check fails, it only runs the first time the check fails and not on any consecutive failures. That is, it runs once per outage and won't run again until the check passes and then fails again. Sometimes that's fine. In other cases I really want the task to run each and every time the check comes back as failed. For example, I have an event log ...more »
I'd like to be able to tell the dashboard to add all SNMP checks for a Dell server. Then the agent would walk through all the known SNMP checks and automatically add any that get a valid response. That would allow for slight tweaking of the checks rather than adding so many checks by hand and figuring out which ones work and which ones don't.
If the Linux agent starts and internet access isn't available yet, the agent just exits. It should continue running and retry at regular intervals like the Windows and Mac agents do.
I need to schedule multiple reboots on a system with the right-click->reboot->later method. It seems like I used to be able to do this. But, now if a reboot is pending you can't schedule another one. Was this changed in a recent dashboard update? I'm switching a server from Vipre to Bitdefender. I did a reboot now, then I had to sit here for 10 minutes until the system came back up to schedule a reboot later after Bitdefender ...more »
As I'm migrating clients to Bitdefender, instead of doing it all in one blow, I've been creating a new site with Bitdefender enabled and moving the machines over to the new site when I want them to do the install. The problem is, I have to go through each feature's settings menu and try to get the new site identical to the old, except the Bitdefender setting. It would be really nice to copy the existing site, then just ...more »
We need separate upload/download bandwidth throttling options in MOB. I'm doing a restore now that I really want to go fast, but it seems to have been throttled down by the business hours limit, which is very low. Either have the two options or give me the option to override the throttling when I'm creating the restore job.
I need to run a task on all machines at a site. It needs to run exactly once on each machine. As I created the task and set it to run manually, some of the machines are not online (and may not be for a couple days). If I let the task propagate to all the machines currently online, then run the task, any machines that were offline when I create the task will not ever run it. Later, I'll have to go through and unselect ...more »
A client has a service that needs to be running at all times from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. I check the status and restart when stopped with the agent. I need to stop the service after hours to get a good backup of their data. If we could keep the service from being restarted during this backup/maintenance window, that would be handy.
