The rich editor for private notes can link to an image on the web which is fine. But it would be really powerful if you could link to attachments you've uploaded to MSP Manager.
Maybe have a drop down box that lists the names of any images attached to the ticket you are editing, and you can choose one to insert.
Attachments on tickets are great, but they would be much more helpful if there were previewers for images and some audio formats.
For images: jpg, jpeg, png, bmp, would all be great.
For audio: wav, mp3 players would be awesome
Please consider adding a couple small quick copy buttons next to the username and password fields when viewing a password. Currently it's difficult to select the username or password to copy it.
Also, it would great if the notes field could detect a hyperlink (https://...) and display it as a link that a viewer can click on.
We're able to filter the asset count on a service plan via tags. It would be nice if we could add the ability to filter by location. If we could add multiple locations to one service plan, then it would be easy to bill based on what devices are in a specific location. For example, let's say a client has 3 locations, but only 2 of them are covered with Managed Services. Then in our service plan called Managed Services, ...more »
I would like to see an In Progress Total field added to the User Stats screen for each user. This would really help management to ascertain at a glance how much work each technician has on their shoulders and assign tickets accordingly.
You can specifically assign assets and tasks to a ticket, it would be great if you could also specifically assign the passwords, procedures and contacts that are relevant to a ticket. Also, it would be nice if there was a way to assign passwords and procedures that were "global" to the system, not just specific to a client to a ticket. Our techs may need to login to a web portal where we manage many of our clients, so ...more »
It would be great if we could pin certain procedures to a clients dashboard. Just the title could show with a link to the article. This would be helpful for certain procedures that are important to a customer but difficult for techs to remember. If they are pinned they'll stand out more readily.
We have many clients that also have some in house IT. We would like to offer a "co-managed" ticketing system to these clients. Basically, if we could allow designated users at the client to create, edit, and close tickets this would be great. They should not be able to see our private comments on tickets. Also, we should be able to exclude "co-managed" tickets from reports if desired. EDIT: The best approach to this ...more »
MSP Manager tracks billable time for clients, but it would be nice to add a module to track each staff members working hours for payroll.
For instance, if a staff member works an 8 hour day, allow them to record their working hours for that day along with details of what work was performed. Then allow HR to export the data to QuickBooks to do payroll.
I often have trouble getting powershell and other scripts to work via automated tasks. I can run them directly on the server or workstation and they work just fine, but then I run into trouble when running it as a task. The frustration is that it takes a while to run the tasks through the dashboard, so you end up running and waiting. Then it errors out so you come back to it, modify your script or config, run it again... ...more »
As SolarWinds adds more services to it's RMM product, it becomes increasingly difficult to manage these services for client sites. It would be great to be able to see all services enabled for a site on one screen and enable and configure them. For example, it would be nice if you could right-click on a site and choose edit services. Then be brought to a screen where I could easily see that the site has AV enabled, Web ...more »
Maybe there's a way to do something like this already, but I couldn't find it. Basically, I would like system variables that could be used in just about any field within MaxFocus: email templates, AV exclusions, 24x7 & DSC's, so on. For example let's say I have an SNMP check that returns the firmware running on my clients NSA2600 SonicWALL. It's fine that it shows me the firmware, that's helpful, but it would be better ...more »
