When 'Take Control'-ing to multiple devices through N-Central, they should merge windows and have multiple tabs that can be flicked through with keyboard shortcut CTRL + Tab (like google chrome) instead of having multiple Windows.
We lost a client to another IT company and they want us to remove AV Defender at 12:00am.
Instead of me having to create the AV Defender uninstall rule or bulk removal of AVD (https://support.solarwindsmsp.com/kb/solarwinds_n-central/Uninstall-AV-Defender--via-bulk-edit?q=Uninstall-AV-Defender--via-bulk-edit) at midnight, I propose we have an uninstall maintenance window so that we can schedule the uninstall.
Take Control > View > Change TS Sesssion, is an incredibly handy tool but can also be very dangerous seeing as it doesn't prompt for a password or inform the user account you are transferring into, that you are connecting. Therefore I'm proposing that - The same "Madeline is in session" prompt be available. - Same "Permission to grant access" prompt be available. - Permissions to this be made available through Roles. ...more »
One of our clients had a Print Server that was struggling with the number of print jobs. While it was struggling N-Able would alert a 'Failure' on high CPU and create a ticket. The Server would then reboot itself, clearing the print queue. CPU monitoring would then go back into a 'Normal' state, closing the ticket. This happened 5-6 times within a week. If N-Able had recognized the trend or reoccurring issue, the Service ...more »
Currently N-Able picks up the maximum port speed (eg. 1GB) and sets that as the "Detected Port Speed". All the reports then use the Detected Port Speed to measure bandwidth usage. However if your fibre/internet line is less than that (eg 100MB) then the reports look like they are only using a small percentage of the line, instead of the an accurate reading. Therefore, I am proposing, like in SolarWinds NPM, we make the ...more »
It would be good if we could see which devices have agents and probes installed. Mostly probes.
So maybe add a symbol in the Features column under All Devices view that tells you if a Probe has been installed.
We upgraded our N-Central server to 11.2 but haven't yet upgraded our Report Manager to 5.0.3. Apparently, its by design that the "Welcome to MSP Anywhere - here is a description about whats new with the update" prompt comes up EVERY time you login for EVERY user, until you upgrade your Report Manager. To me, that sounds a bit excessive and unnecessary. Not everyone needs to see this every day so there should be a "Don't ...more »
You shouldn't need to allow a user to have access to manage Patch Management just so that they can see reports on patching.
I want Account Managers to have access to Reports but don't want them to be able to change configuration/approvals etc.
I'd like the ability to access all reports without having admin access to all the sections (Patch Mgmt, AV Status, Backup Manager etc)
We have limited the number of usable AV Defender licenses for each client as to what they pay for. This is to avoid AV Defender being installed and used without it being charged for. But when a new PC is added and an additional license is added, yyou need to then edit/refresh the Rule automatically installing AVD to all devices in order for it to automatically apply. I think the Rule should refresh either the same rate ...more »
What: Separate FQDN and IP address into separate fields from the Network Address field. Why: Because I want to be able to see both at the same time from the All Devices tab, export the All Devices tab easily and we frequently need both. I don't particularly need the Discovered Name to be as prominent because if the PC name changes, this field because kinda useless. Who will benefit: My support desk, senior engineers ...more »
